Loose surface, moving light

Gravel punishes eyewear twice. The ground throws grit up at you and the tree line strobes the light every few seconds, so a lens that suits the open field is wrong thirty metres later. The Morningside is built around that inconsistency, with a closed wrap frame that keeps dust out of the corner of your eye.

Who it's for

Riders on unsealed roads, fire trails and canal paths where the surface and the light both change without warning.

  • Adapt to a gap in the canopy without touching your face, because the clear photochromic lens darkens on its own while you are still picking a line.
  • Hold position over washboard and loose stone, thanks to a full-rim wrap that sits close to the face instead of bouncing on the bridge.
  • Handle a full day of thrown grit and finish with the lens intact, thanks to the anti-scratch coating over polycarbonate.
  • Get full UV400 cover on every lens option.

For roads that are not really roads.

Built for gravel and mixed-surface riding

Gravel routes rarely stay one thing for long. A single ride can run from exposed farm track into dense tree cover and back out again, which is why gravel cycling sunglasses have to answer to light that will not settle. Four lens options cover it: smoke and blue for open, bright sections, a polarized tint that cuts the flat shine off wet ruts and standing water, and a clear photochromic lens for early starts and shaded fire trails. All four block 100% of UVA and UVB to UV400, so the clear lens you ride at dawn protects as much as the darkest one. The wrap shape and TR90 frame are there for the rest of it — dust, gravel spray and the vibration that comes with riding a surface that moves under you.

THE PROFILE

Closed Wrap, TR90 Frame

A full-rim wrap that sits tight to the face and leaves no gap along the brow. Full rim holds the lens all the way round rather than clipping it at the top, and the TR90 frame keeps that closed shape light. The wrap carries coverage back past the corner of the eye.

BRIGHT DAYS

For Time Spent Outside

Smoke, blue, polarized or clear photochromic. Four ways to meet the light, all rated 100% UV400. Smoke for open sun, blue for glare coming back off the ground, polarized for wet surfaces, and clear photochromic for a start before the sun is properly up.

IN THE BOX

Protected In A Hard Case

A hard case, a microfibre pouch and a cleaning cloth ship with the frame. Dust is the thing that turns up first on a long day out, well before anything marks the lens, so the cloth sees more use than the case does. Both are packed in either way.

THE DETAILS

Polarized On A TR90 Wrap

A polarized polycarbonate lens with an anti-scratch coating, on a TR90 full-rim wrap frame. Polarization deals with reflected glare rather than brightness on its own, and the coating is what keeps the lens clear after a season of being wiped down.

Engineered for running. Clean enough for everything after.
